Vincent 'Jimmy Gigali' Cestaro was a member of the Gambino Family.
Born July 8, 1927 in NYC to Giovanni (29y) and Luisa Caserta (25y). Both parents were born in Naples, Italy. At the time of birth the family resided at 165 Mulberry St.
His older brother Thomas (1922-2006), known as 'Tommy Gigali or 'Gigalese', was a Member of the Genovese Family inducted in 1976 or 1977.
His cousin Vincent 'Jimmy Red' Caserta (1937-1984) was also a member of the Genovese Family, who was killed in a shootout with an police officer.
His sister Raffaela married Gambino Soldier Anthony 'Tony West' DeLutro (1927-1997). Their son 'Baby John' DeLutro has been named in media sources as a Gambino Member.
Raffaela and Anthony DeLutro's daughter married a son of Lawrence 'Chappie' Brescio (1905-1985), a longtime Soldier in the Genovese Family.
By 1940 resided at 167 Mulberry St.
In 1943 quit school and went and went to work at a cleaning shop.
By 1950 still resided at 167 Mulberry St. Genovese Soldier Joseph 'JoJo Crumb' Tedesche (1926-1998) resided next door at 165 Mulberry St.
Later that year, on October 12, arrested by the FBI for hijacking a truck containing $25,000 worth of radio parts. Also arrested was Leo Milito (23y) of 149 E. Broadway; Edward Bilinski, (32y) of 118 Mulberry St. and Charles Cortese (25y) of 93 Monroe St.
The hijacking took place when the truck stopped for a red light at 33d St. and Northern Boulevard, Long Island City. Cestaro was arrested the following day and held on $50,000 bail.
By 1958 formally inducted member of Gambino Family.
He died on January 15, 1961 following a car accident.
On July 1, 1963 posthumously identified by the FBI as a Member of the Gambino Family.
In an FBI report dated July 10, 1963 Cestaro was identified by FBI CI and Gambino Soldier Alfredo Santantonio as an LCN Member. Santantonio was murdered the following day in his Brooklyn store.
