Anthony Parisi (Bonanno)

 

A. Parisi

Anthony Parisi was a member of the Bonanno Family.


Not to be confused with Gambino Associate Anthony 'Poncho' Parisi [25.11.1929-9.6.1998] an Bronx based union official with Local 143 of PSAWU who was proposed for Gambino Family Membership in 1990 by Captain Frank D'Apolito but rejected for membership.


Born January 1, 1927 in NYC to Antonio (40y) and Josephine Fiorenza (31y). Father born in Castellammare del Golfo, Sicily. Father worked as a Plasterer.


At the time the family resided at 337 East 14th St in East Village. By 1935 the family resided at 221 Second Avenue also in East Village.

 

A. Ficarotta 1951

Future Genovese Captain Anthony 'Figgy' Ficarotta [1927-2016] also resided at 221 Second Avenue. On his 1945 draft card Ficarotta listed Parisi as the "person who will always know your address".


East Village was the area of several Bonanno Family hangouts, such as the Reno Bar on 12th St and Second Avenue, and The Shoreview Social Club at Avenue A and 12th St.


As a juvenile offender arrested for larceny, bookmaking and possessing policy slips.


On January 10, 1949 arrested for felonious assault following a brawl at a luncheonette on Second Avenue. The fight started over a female companion and Parisi called several friends who arrived from a nearby bowling alley to help him. Among them Anthony Ficarotta who was also arrested. First held on $500 bail and released four days later.


In 1950 resided at 45 Pinehurst Avenue in Manhattan's Hudson Heights neighborhood. 


By 1958 he was an inducted member of the Bonanno Family.


On November 20, 1962 charged with theft after he and another man stole phonograph records from a department store in Rotterdam, NY. Authorities said they believe 

Parisi is part of a ring which has stolen large quantities of phonograph records in New York and New Jersey. 


On January 31, 1963 identified by the FBI as a member of the Bonanno Family.


In June 1964 identified by the FBI as a member of the Bonanno Family.


On January 19, 1965 an FBI CI advised: "[informant] advised that an ANTHONY PARISI was an associate of PHIL TARTAGLIA, a known New York hoodlum and possible member of the JOSEPH BONANNO family of La Cosa Nostra."


Tartaglia's uncle Bonanno Soldier Eugene Tramaglino owned two businesses close to the Parisi Residence at 221 Second Avenue.  


On April 1, 1966 arrested for vagrancy in Menands, NY. A week later arrested for Grand larceny for stealing $200 Worth of phonograph records from a department store in Menands.


By 1966 he possibly resided with parents at 1099 Briar Way Fort Lee, NJ. An alternative address possibly 342 East 11th St in East Village.


He died June 6, 1974 in Fort Lee, NJ.


He was posthumously identified as a Soldier in the Bonanno Family in 1983 and 1988 Senate Charts.
